Man Utd should give Ten Hag more time – Paul Scholes

Published

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes manager Erik ten Hag should be given more time despite the team’s recent struggles, including their defeat to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Scholes acknowledged that United’s current form is not good enough, but he believes Ten Hag needs more time to implement his philosophy and build a strong team.

I still don’t feel like there’s that much pressure on Erik ten Hag,” Scholes told TNT Sports. “He had a good year and bought some time. He’s had bad injuries but nine defeats in 17 is not good enough.”

“I know United have sacked before, but I don’t think they can afford to keep doing that, I think we’ve got to let this fella go with it.

Scholes’ comments come amid growing pressure on Ten Hag, who has faced criticism for his team’s inconsistent performances and lack of discipline.

However, Scholes believes that Ten Hag is the right manager to lead United back to success and that he should be allowed to prove himself.

“I think we’ve got to give him time,” Scholes added.

United currently sits at the bottom of Champions League Group A, leaving Ten Hag under more pressure.
