Boniface nominated for Bundesliga player of the month award
Nigerian forward Victor Boniface has enjoyed a stellar start to his Bundesliga career with Bayer Leverkusen, and his impressive performances have been rewarded with nominations for both the Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month awards.
The 22-year-old has scored four goals and provided two assists in his first three games for Xabi Alonso’s side, and his goalscoring exploits have helped Leverkusen to a strong start to the season.
Boniface’s performances have also earned him his first international call-up to the Super Eagles squad for their upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sao Tome and Principe.
Victor faces stiff competition for the Player of the Month award, with Bayern Munich duo Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies also nominated.
However, his performances have been so impressive that he is a worthy contender for the award.
The Rookie of the Month award is a more realistic target for Boniface, and he is the favorite to win the award.
He is the only player in the Bundesliga to score four goals in his first three games, and he has also been a menace for defenders with his pace and power.
The winners of the Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month awards will be announced on September 15th.
