Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has honoured a health worker, Dr Ishaku Dickson, with a fully furnished three-bedroom house in recognition of his dedication and selfless service to the people of Monguno community, Borno State.
The governor made the presentation on Monday night during a visit to Monguno.
Earlier in the day, he inaugurated the renovated officers’ lounge and cafeteria at the headquarters of Sector 3 of Operation Hadin Kai.
In addition to the housing reward, Governor Zulum approved the immediate employment of Dr Dickson’s wife into the Borno State civil service.
He said the gesture was a conscious move to acknowledge sacrifice, professionalism and commitment to public service.
Zulum commended Dr Dickson, a medical doctor, for remaining dedicated to his responsibilities despite the challenges associated with working in a conflict-affected environment, noting that his conduct reflects the values the state seeks to uphold.
“Rewarding excellence is essential to motivating healthcare workers and strengthening service delivery, especially in hard-to-reach and high-risk communities,” Zulum stated.
“Borno State Government values integrity, dedication to work and compassion, particularly among those who serve on the frontlines of healthcare,” he stressed.
Governor Zulum has repeatedly recognised and rewarded diligent and committed public servants, particularly those serving in resettled communities, as part of efforts to boost morale and encourage sustained service delivery to residents.
