Nigerian rapper and singer Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile, has extended an apology to fellow artiste Seyi Vibez following a recent social media fallout linked to an alleged diss track.
The disagreement started after Seyi Vibez accused Zlatan of subtly mocking his Fuji Moto project through ad-libs used on Adekunle Gold’s song, Life of the Party.
Reacting to the perceived jab, Seyi Vibez took to social media where he described Zlatan as a “backup artiste” and suggested that the rapper’s fashion business had become more prominent than his music career.
Responding to the accusations, Zlatan denied deliberately targeting Seyi Vibez, explaining that the controversy was the result of a misunderstanding.
The rapper stated that he was hurt by the assumption that he would intentionally disrespect his colleague and expressed willingness to settle the matter peacefully.
“It actually hurts that my brother thinks I would diss him in any way. It’s literally a misunderstanding. @seyi_vibez it’s all love bro, when you’re ready to talk it out I’m here,” Zlatan wrote.
Seyi Vibez later acknowledged the apology and appreciated Zlatan for making peace. However, he advised the rapper to avoid comments or lyrics that could be interpreted as indirect attacks in the future.
“Apology accepted, Egbon Adugbo. Please, next time, don’t do ‘backup artiste’ to diss me on a song. Thank you, Zlatan,” Seyi Vibez wrote on his X account.
The exchange appears to have calmed tensions between both artistes, with many fans expressing optimism that the misunderstanding has now been resolved.
