Zenith Bank, one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, has announced that its electronic services are fully restored following a temporary disruption caused by recent IT infrastructure upgrades.

In a statement released on Thursday, October 3, 2024, the bank apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused during the upgrade period.

The disruptions affected the bank’s e-channels, including the Zenith Bank Debit Card, Mobile App, Internet Banking Platform, and Agent Banking services. The bank explained that the glitches were due to routine maintenance aimed at improving service delivery.

In a statement, Zenith Bank reassured customers of its commitment to ensuring uninterrupted service. “We sincerely apologize for the recent service disruptions you experienced on our banking channels,” the message read. “These disruptions were due to an Information Technology upgrade aimed at enhancing the quality of service we provide.”

The bank further noted that the upgrade is part of its continuous efforts to optimise service quality. “We have made significant progress with the upgrade, and you can now conveniently perform transactions using your Zenith Bank Debit Card, the Zenith Bank Mobile App, the Zenith Bank Internet Banking Platform, or through Zenith Agents nationwide via Agent Banking. You can also visit any of our branches nationwide to carry out your transactions.”

The disruptions, which began after a notification from the bank about scheduled maintenance from September 29 to October 1, had caused frustration among customers. Many took to social media to express their difficulties with online transactions during the period.

Zenith Bank emphasised that it takes service availability “very personally” and will continue to allocate resources to maintain 100% uptime.
