A Nigerian man has threatened the life of popular broadcaster Kadaria Ahmed over her alleged conversion to Christianity from Islam before her return from London.

The man identified as Amb. Abdulrahman Yahaya made the threat on Twitter where he described the journalist as a walking corpse.

He further said the journalist is

“supposed to have been killed as an apostate. She’s a condemned soul”

It was clear that his tweet was prompted by the journalist’s condemnation of the killings in Zamfara state by suspected bandits over illegal mining.

Over the weekend, Kadaria had led a protest to call the attention of the government to the killings going on in the state.

The troll seems not to be comfortable with how Kadaria lambasted the Zamfara state governor Abdulaziz Yari for his alleged inaction over the killings going on in his state.

During the protest, Kadaria has described the governor as the ” most useless governor in Nigeria.”

He wrote,

“Kadaria, you converted to Christianity in London. I was appalled when I heard her describing herself as a passionate citizen of Zamfara.

“By Islamic tenets, Kadaria is a walking corps, she’s supposed to have been killed as an apostate. She’s a condemned soul”.

In her response to the threat, Kadaria posted a screenshot of the tweet and reported the man to the Nigeria Police Force for threatening her life.

She wrote,

“I have reported this account for threatening my life even as I refused to dignify his allegation with a response. No one should have the right to call for anyone’s death. If anything happens to me, this is the man to hold”.

Meanwhile, the troll had since deleted the threatening tweet which has evoked reactions from Nigerian social media users.

But other tweets on his timeline indicated that his gross against Kadaria was due to her involvement in last weekend’s protest.
