The Zamfara State government has launched a manhunt for a patient who disappeared after testing positive for coronavirus [COVID-19].
The state’s commissioner of health, Alhaji Yahaya Kanoma, said efforts are ongoing to nab the fleeing patient, one Alhaji Jamilu Shinkafi.
He said,
“We are still searching for him. He was in Abuja yesterday and today he left for Kaduna. We will surely arrest him”.
“We even informed the Federal Ministry of Health about this sad development and Insha Allah, we are going to track him and arrest him.”
The commissioner stated that the state government has ordered for the fumigation of Jamilu’s house as well as the entire area.
He appealed to the people of the area who have contact with Jamilu to report to the isolation centre for test, concluding that, ” We are trying to know the people he had contact with”.
