Zamani Telecom has appointed global communications service provider Hayo as its exclusive partner to bolster application-to-person (A2P) monetization and enhance SMS firewall operations.
The partnership is designed to improve traffic oversight, curb fraudulent activity, and drive stronger revenue growth from Zamani’s A2P SMS business.
As part of the agreement, Hayo will carry out extensive testing and analysis to detect and mitigate fraud across Zamani’s messaging traffic, which was previously managed by Orange Niger.
The collaboration aims to create a more resilient and transparent A2P SMS environment. In parallel, Hayo will roll out advanced pricing models intended to grow overall traffic volumes while prioritizing higher-value over-the-top (OTT) traffic segments, supporting a more sustainable revenue structure for Zamani.
Hayo’s SMS Firewall solution will be central to the initiative, enabling the identification and blocking of unauthorized A2P SMS traffic routed through grey routes that bypass official channels.
By ensuring all A2P messages are delivered through approved white-listed routes, the solution supports accurate billing and regulatory compliance.
This framework allows major global enterprises such as Alibaba, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Meta, TikTok, and others to transmit A2P SMS traffic securely and reliably within Niger.
Paul Loveridge, Executive Vice President for Carrier Services at Hayo, stated, “Our partnership with Zamani will increase its competitiveness and help maximize the value of all traffic on its network. As the international telecom landscape grows more complex, we’re focused on adding value for our customers and advising on the right solutions to ensure success.”
Feraz Ahmed, CEO of Hayo, added, “Our A2P monetization strategies and SMS Firewall solutions are designed to eliminate fraud and proactively block illegitimate traffic. We’re bringing innovative, on-the-ground solutions to Niger that will benefit the entire mobile ecosystem in the country.”
The partnership represents a key milestone for Zamani Telecom as it works to strengthen network security, optimize A2P messaging revenues, and reinforce its competitive standing in the West African telecommunications market.
