Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has issued a strongly worded public message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, voicing deep concern over the escalating insecurity and economic hardship being experienced across the country.
The actor noted that many communities are now under constant threat from armed criminals, often losing loved ones without justice or accountability for the perpetrators.
He wrote: “Bandits are gradually taking over the whole country, spilling the blood of Nigerians without consequences. Nigerians are being kidnapped in numbers daily.”
He accused the government of failing to adequately confront the crisis. According to him, the situation has left many citizens living in fear, with reports of abductions emerging from different parts of the country almost daily.
The actor also expressed worry over the rising costs of food, transportation and essential commodities, saying many households can no longer cope with the financial pressure. He described the struggle for survival as a burden now shared nationwide. “Things are so expensive, the suffering is unbearable for Nigerians,” the film star added.
Edochie questioned whether the current national reality aligns with the “renewed hope” agenda promised during President Tinubu’s campaign.
