At a time when industry veterans are being recognized for their foundational roles in shaping the entertainment landscape, Nigerian singer, Rema, made a powerful statement in New York by paying tribute to music mogul, Don Jazzy.

During his sold-out concert at the iconic Madison Square Garden, Rema paused his performance to invite Don Jazzy onstage in front of thousands of cheering fans.

A video capturing the emotional moment quickly circulated on social media, showing the Mavin Records founder joining Rema in what became a heartfelt highlight of the evening.

As Don Jazzy attempted to leave the stage, Rema stopped him and took a moment to publicly acknowledge his contributions to the Nigerian music industry.

“I want to give you your flowers right in front of these many people… there are so many things you’ve done for the game that you don’t talk about, that people don’t talk about. You have changed so many lives and I just want to say I’m grateful from the bottom of my heart and I love you so much,” the 24-year-old singer said.

The tribute was met with roaring applause from the audience, underscoring the significance of Don Jazzy’s influence both at home and internationally. His mentorship and industry leadership have played a pivotal role in launching and nurturing some of Afrobeats’ biggest stars.
