Nigerians have reacted after YouTube took down Omoni Oboli’s latest movie, ‘Love In Every Word,’ following a copyright claim.
The movie, which premiered on March 7, 2025, had quickly gained massive attention, amassing over 2 million views within the first 24 hours and surpassing 7 million views in just four days.
However, the film was removed from Oboli’s official YouTube channel after a user, Chinonso Obiora Skyberry, filed a copyright infringement report, claiming ownership of the storyline.
The romantic drama, produced by Omoni Oboli and written by Mfon-Abasi Micheal Inyang, starred popular actors like Bam Bam and Uzor Arukwe and explored themes of love, emotional strength, and communication in relationships.
The sudden takedown has stirred reactions from fans and social media users, with many expressing confusion and disappointment.
An X user, Sayo Opajimi, reacted, saying, “Omoni Oboli’s movie is no longer on YouTube. Someone else has uploaded it claiming it belongs to them. They said they sold the script to Omoni after selling it to another person first.”
Another user, Bighotbaby1, commented, “I wanted to watch ‘Love In Every Word’ on YouTube but it got removed due to a copyright claim by Chinonso Obiora (Skyberry). YouTube took it down. I’m confused. Did someone sell someone else’s storyline to Omoni Oboli?”
Ebukaobrota also asked, “@OmoniOboli please ma’am, why can’t I find the movie again on YouTube?”
NellyB shared their frustration, “I was watching it just a few minutes ago, and suddenly it wasn’t there. I hope YouTube didn’t take down this beautiful movie after hitting so many views in just a few days.”
Solomonitegboje simply stated, “The movie has been removed from YouTube.”
Another user, Otoyoessisi, added, “Why is the link saying the video is no longer available due to a copyright infringement report? I didn’t finish watching it yesterday only to see this now. What is going on?”
Ahmedzeal also questioned, “Your movie is no longer available on your YouTube channel.”
