Members of Ijaw Youth Council, (IYC) Western Zone, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest against the alleged intimidation and witch hunting of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s family and the Ijaws.
The organization comprising members from Ondo, Edo and Delta States staged a protest on the streets of Warri, Delta, against the Federal Government arrests, intimidation and witch hunting of the Ijaws.
Speaking at NPA in Warri South Local Government Government Area, the Chairman of IYC, Western Zone, Comr. Freeborn Atigbi, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately release all detained sons of Ijaws, describing their arrests as illegal and unlawful.
He urged the Ijaw Nation to defend itself by resisting any alleged unlawful arrests, recalling that, the Ijaws could not be defeated by the then military government.
