Popular television host Morayo Afolabi-Brown has opened up about her struggle with depression and moments when she considered ending her life.

The former host of TVC’s talk show, Your View, shared her story during an emotional interview with Chude, revealing that she battled deep sadness before deciding to resign from the show after 12 years.

“I was depressed. At a point, I was suicidal. I walked on the express, hoping a car would hit me. It was that bad,” she said.

Brown explained that she had felt stuck in her role for years but struggled with the uncertainty of what to do next. She said the turning point came last year when she finally gained clarity about leaving.

“It was when we [TVC] were ten years that I knew that it was time \[for me] to go to the next thing. I have been harbouring that thought for a while but I didn’t know how to go about it. But last year, I got that light-bulb moment,” she said.

Brown, who became a household name for her bold and often thought-provoking takes on current issues, has yet to reveal her next career move but said she is now focused on a new chapter in her life.
