Young people are dying, Daddy Showkey cries out in viral video

Veteran Nigerian dancehall singer, John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, has made a passionate appeal to Nigerian youths to desist from unhealthy lifestyles as well as to avoid indulging in excessive smoking and consumption of alcohol.

Showkey, who made the statement in a viral video posted on his Instagram page on Monday, cried that a large number of the country’s youths are dying from smoking tobacco and other undisclosed substances, which many think is the new normal.

The 50-year-old further advised his fans and followers to ensure that they frequent hospitals for regular medical check-ups.

In the video, he stated, “This is a message to you wey get ear to hear, workout you no go do, oh my God”

“I know many of you would not like this video. You see why we are shouting about the need for you people to take care of your health. Many of you will smoke and drink anyhow.

“Go to the hospital, do medical check-up. When you drink anyhow, at the end of the day, it is your body that will bear everything. I am not saying that I am a perfect human being. I am just telling us to take care of our body. Young people are dying!”
