Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has credited his rise to international fame to a clear vision and unwavering self-belief, stating that success begins with the ability to dream.
During an appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, where his documentary “Wizkid: Long Live Lagos” premiered, the award-winning singer reflected on his journey and the mindset that propelled him forward.
When asked by the interviewer whether he had always anticipated his current level of success, Wizkid responded confidently.
“Yeah, absolutely, man. You have to dream it before you achieve it. So, yeah, [I’ve] always [known I would be successful],” he said.
Wizkid also used the opportunity to inspire young people, advising them to remain authentic, put in the work, and stay grounded in faith. His comments underscored a consistent theme in his career—discipline, vision, and resilience.
The artist’s remarks were particularly fitting as they accompanied the debut of a documentary that chronicles his life, career, and the cultural significance of his hometown, Lagos.
