Activist and Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has led others to protest against the continued detention of his embattled colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, who was accused of molesting a minor.
On Wednesday, Fabiyi and the other protesters converged at Casino Bus Stop in Lagos State from where they then marched to Panti Police Station.
Their demand was simple and stated that Baba Ijesha be released from detention pending when a court would hear his case.
Fabiyi has described the continuous detention of Baba Ijesha as ‘illegal.’
WUZUPNIGERIA reports that Baba Ijesha has been in detention since he was accused of defiling the 14-year-old foster daughter of comedienne Princess’ Name a.k.a Princess.
The scandal has drawn wide condemnation from celebrities and other Nigerians who declared support for Princess and demanded the actor must be held accountable for his actions.
