A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress in Yobe State, Mohammed Bello, has announced his resignation from the party, stating that the decision was made in the best interest of his community.
Bello, a former APC senatorial aspirant for Yobe Zone A, made his resignation known in a letter addressed to the party’s Ward Chairman in Gwange, Damaturu. He emphasized that the move takes immediate effect and followed deep reflection.
“This decision has not come lightly; it follows considerable reflection on my personal values and the direction of the party,” the letter read.
According to Bello, stepping away from the APC is necessary to better serve his people and respond to the realities on the ground.
“After much deliberation, I have concluded that it is in my best interest and that of my community to step away from the party at this time,” he stated.
Describing the decision as a personal liberation, he added that he was making the move to “come out from bondage,” signaling his dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs within the party.
Bello’s exit may signal a shift in political alignment in the area, as he has been a visible figure in the APC’s political activities within Yobe State.
