Yeni Kuti, the first child of the legendary musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, is now a grandmother.
Her daughter, Rolari and hubby Benedict, welcomed their first child on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
The news was announced in a statement on the official Instagram handle of Afrika Shrine.
The statement reads:
“THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF THE NEW AFRIKA SHRINE CELEBRATE WITH YK POWER WHO IS NOW A GRANDMOTHER… EGBE EGBE WAIN WAIN ARARARARA!!!!!! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US.”
Her brother, Femi Kuti also took to Instagram to congratulate his sister.
“@YeniAKuti my eldest sister YK power now officially a grandmother ????congratulations to u and our whole family most especially my niece and her husband, “Femi wrote.
Rolari is the only child of Yeni Kuti and the late popular media personality, Femi Segun.
