‘Mama Africa’, Yemi Alade, is counting her blessing after having a swell 2019.

The afro-pop artiste in a tweet on Monday shared some of her milestones for the year, claiming with thanks that it showed God was not done with her yet.

The singer and songwriter noted that despite the hate on social media, she got so much international recognition, endorsements, highest female artist streams on Spotify and several more.

She wrote,

“I don’t know how I Have been doing it on these Twitter streets of hate and but it’s so obvious more than ever before with so much international recognition, endorsements, highest female artist streams on Spotify etc, that GOD ISNT DONE IN MY LIFE.”

WuzupNigeria reports that the 30-year-old gained prominence after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009. Best known for her hit single “Johnny”, Yemi Alade has several ‘accolades’ to her name with ‘Johnny’ currently holding YouTube record for the most-watched African Female music video of all time.

In July 2019, Alade became the first African female artist to reach one million subscribers on YouTube. The diva was featured on “Don’t Jealous Me”, a track from Beyoncé’s soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift. She appeared on the track alongside Mr Eazi and Tekno.

Rolling Stone magazine revealed that Alade also recorded a verse for an earlier version of “My Power” in June.
