Yakubu Aiyegbeni calls for Rohr’s sack as Super Eagles coach
Former Super Eagles, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has called for the sack of Gernot Rohr as the technical adviser of the national men’s football team.
This comes after the shambolic display at the African Cup of Nations qualifiers that saw the Eagles drop a potential six-point to Sierra Leone.
The Nigerian fanbase was more infuriated with the 4-4 draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City as they watched Rohr’s team squander a four-goal lead.
Reacting after the 0-0 draw with the Leone Stars in Freetown on Tuesday, the former Everton striker opined that some of the players aren’t good enough to be in the Super Eagles squad.
Aiyegbeni also labelled the German tactician as one of the worst coaches in the history of the country’s football.
“The coach is not good enough, let him go,” Aiyegbeni told Lagos Talks FM 93.1.
“Some of the boys are not good enough. I don’t know where they are bringing them from. Who is inviting these players?
“Our football is getting worse every day. When I was there, people criticized us, but we’re way better than these ones.
