Khaby Lame, the world’s most-followed TikTok star, has left the United States after being detained by immigration officials in Las Vegas for overstaying his visa.
The 25-year-old Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose real name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was stopped Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but allowed to leave voluntarily without a formal deportation order.
“Mr. Lame arrived in the U.S. on April 30 and overstayed his visa,” confirmed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson. By choosing voluntary departure, Lame avoids a 10-year ban from returning to America.
The silent comedy star, famous for his wordless reactions to ridiculous “life hacks,” has 162 million TikTok followers. Born in Senegal but raised in Italy since infancy, Lame holds Italian citizenship.
His detention comes during President Trump’s intensified immigration crackdown, including recent ICE raids in Los Angeles that sparked major protests.
Lame had been enjoying a successful U.S. visit – attending May’s Met Gala in New York shortly after arriving. The social media celebrity also partners with Hugo Boss and serves as a UNICEF ambassador.
