Haiti and Türkiye have been eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after suffering their second defeats of the tournament on Friday.

According to The Punch, five-time world champions Brazil secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Haiti in a Group C clash in Philadelphia, United States, ending the Caribbean nation’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring for Brazil with a close-range finish after Vinicius Junior’s effort was saved by the goalkeeper.

Cunha later doubled Brazil’s advantage with a powerful strike from inside the penalty area before Vinicius Junior added a third goal in first-half stoppage time.

The defeat leaves Haiti rooted to the bottom of Group C without a point from two matches and with no chance of progressing to the next round.

Their final group match against Morocco on June 24 will now serve only as a formality.

The victory moved Brazil to the top of the group on goal difference ahead of Morocco.

In Group D, Türkiye’s World Cup campaign also came to an end following a 1-0 defeat to Paraguay at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.

Matias Galarza scored the fastest goal of the 2026 World Cup so far, finding the net just 64 seconds after kick-off to hand Paraguay a crucial victory.

Türkiye pushed for an equaliser and enjoyed a numerical advantage after Paraguay had a player sent off in stoppage time, but they were unable to break through.

The result leaves Türkiye with zero points from two matches, confirming their exit from the tournament with one game remaining.

Paraguay, meanwhile, remain in contention for a place in the knockout rounds ahead of their final group-stage encounter against Australia.

Haiti’s appearance marked their first World Cup participation since 1974, while Türkiye’s early elimination comes as a disappointment after entering the tournament with high expectations.
