A 27-year-old woman named Oluchi Nzemechi, from Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, Kelechi Nzemechi, to death.

The incident reportedly occurred due to a disagreement over how to share money from their internet scam business, commonly known as Yahoo Yahoo.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, Oluchi admitted to committing the crime.

She revealed that her boyfriend had introduced her to cybercrime, and they successfully scammed an Indonesian of 250 million rupiah.

However, when discussing how to divide the money, an argument broke out, leading Oluchi to stab Kelechi with a kitchen knife.

After realizing that Kelechi was dead, Oluchi tried to cover up her involvement. She wrote a note and placed it on his body.

The note read, “You think you can eat my money and go free? I am baba for the boys. I am coming for your wife and your child, including your family,” before fleeing the scene.

Further interrogation revealed that Oluchi had been living with Kelechi since 2019 and they had a child together. The police are working to recover the 250 million rupiah to possibly return it to its rightful owner.

“The suspect is currently undergoing investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department and will certainly be arraigned in court,” the police spokesperson stated.
