Wizkid’s ‘Ginger’ peaks at No. 1 on UK Afrobeats chart
Nigerian singer, Wizkid keeps making waves as his track ‘Ginger’ featuring Burna Boy peaked at No. 1 on the UK Afrobeats chart.
A quick check on the UK Afrobeats chart shows that the Nigerian singer is currently ranked number one, though that his not all.
‘Essence’ featuring fellow Nigerian artist, Tems also remains at No. 2 on the same chart. Both songs are off Wizkid’s commercial a, lbumMade In Lagos.
Wizkid and Grammy-nominated Burna Boy recently released a video for ‘Ginger.’ and they both looked dapper in the video. The video came after the one for ‘No Stress.’
‘Ginger’ has now spent 11 weeks on the chart while ‘Essence’ has spent seven weeks.
Wizkid recently made history as the 1st Nigerian artiste to go Platinum twice in Canada, with his song Come Closer with Drake.
Wizkid made the big announcement during midnight hours of Friday, January 15 via his official news and fan page on Instagram.
The hit song ‘Come Closer’ which had a global collaboration from Canadian rapper Drake was certified Platinum on January 13 after the song garnered over 80,000 unit sales in Canada.
Making the announcement, Wizkid’s fan page wrote,
“NEWS ? @wizkidayo’s “Come Closer” featuring @drake is now certified platinum in Canada for sales of 80,000+ units! ?? “This is Wizkid’s second song to go platinum or higher — first as lead. He’s the first and only Nigerian artist to go platinum in Canada (2x). Our first certification of the year! ?”
