Willian’s first half brace give Chelsea 2-1 win at Tottenham

CHELSEA have the bragging rights after a dominating 2-0 victory over Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Jose Mourinho went up against Frank Lampard, but it was the former Blues’ midfielder who came off best thanks to Willian’s first half brace.

And things got worse for the Special One after the break, when Son Heung-min picked up his third red card of the season for a needless kick on Rudiger – who then informed officials he was racially abused by a member of the crowd.

Willian scored a sensational early opener, dropping his shoulder to skip away from Serge Aurier before bending into the far corner.

The visitors went further ahead on the stroke of half-time after VAR overturned Anthony Taylor’s bizarre decision to award Tottenham a free-kick despite Paulo Gazzaniga missing the ball with a high kick and wiping out Marcos Alonso in the box.

After a long review, Taylor pointed to the spot and Willian made no mistake with the opportunity, sending Gazzaniga the wrong way.

Tottenham were reduced to 10 men in the second half after VAR spotted Son Heung-Min had kicked out at Antonio Rudiger in retaliation after being fouled by him.

Mourinho’s men continued to try and find a way back into the game but Chelsea managed the game well to see it out and claim the three points.
