Former wife of Hollywood actor Will Smith, Sheree Zampino, has filed a lawsuit against American commentator Bilaal Salaam, accusing him of making damaging and false statements about her personal life.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Zampino is seeking more than $1 million in damages after Salaam allegedly made offensive and defamatory comments about her during a recent interview appearance.
The controversy began following the release of a promotional clip on May 4, 2026, from the online show Unwine with Tasha K. In the video, which circulated widely on social media platforms, Salaam allegedly claimed that Zampino had intimate relationships with several people within the American entertainment industry.
Court filings state that Salaam repeated and expanded on the allegations during the full interview, where he allegedly used insulting and defamatory language while discussing Zampino’s lifestyle.
In the lawsuit, Zampino described the accusations as entirely false, arguing that the statements amount to serious slander under California law. She further claimed that the remarks caused her humiliation, embarrassment, emotional distress, and mental anguish.
As part of the legal action, Zampino is suing for slander and intentional infliction of emotional distress. She is requesting $1 million in compensatory damages, in addition to punitive damages and coverage of legal expenses.
Salaam, who was once a close associate of Will Smith, has previously drawn attention for making controversial remarks about the Smith family. He is also reportedly involved in a separate legal dispute with Jada Pinkett Smith over alleged threats.
