Wilfred Ndidi out of W/C qualifiers, to be sidelined for five weeks
Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, is expected to be out of action for the next five weeks after picking up a knock over the weekend.
Ndidi who missed Leicester City’s 1-0 Europa League defeat at Legia Warsaw suffered an hamstring injury during the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Sunday in the Premier League.
Confirming, coach Brendan Rodgers said: “Wilf did it in the Burnley game, which was unfortunate.
“He missed the Legia Warsaw game through suspension and also Crystal Palace.
“It could be four to five weeks before he is back, we’ll see how it goes.”
The 24-year-old has been automatically ruled out of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying home and away clash against the Central African Republic (Thursday and Tuesday).
Meanwhile, Ndidi will not be available for Rodgers’ side when they face Manchester United and Arsenal after the international break.
He will also miss the Europa League double-fixture against Spartak Moscow, the away games against Leeds United and Brentford, as well as a Carabao Cup tie against Brighton.
