Wike dismisses heads of 21 FCT agencies, companies
In a surprising move, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the heads of 21 agencies and companies under the jurisdiction of the FCT Administration from their positions.
This immediate dismissal was officially communicated through a statement released on Wednesday night in Abuja, and the announcement was made by Mr. Anthony Ogunleye, the Director of Press in the FCT Minister’s office.
“They are to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior officers in rank.
“Appointments into the offices will be made in due course,” Ogunleye said
The list of those affected by this decision includes prominent figures such as the Group MD/CEO of Abuja Investment Company Ltd, the CEO/MD of Abuja Markets Management Ltd, the MD/CEO of Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company, and the CEO/MD of Abuja Property Development Company, among others.
The shakeup also extends to key roles like the MD of Abuja Broadcasting Corporation, the DG of FCT Emergency Management Agency, and the Executive Secretary of FCT Primary Healthcare Board, to name a few.
The affected officials have been instructed to transfer the responsibilities of their respective offices to the most senior officers within their organizations.
