The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has again denied claims that he allocated land to any of his children, calling the reports false and politically motivated.

A statement released on Tuesday by Lere Olayinka, the minister’s media aide, dismissed the fresh allegations as another failed attempt to blackmail the minister. He said Wike remains focused on developing Abuja under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Last week, reports claimed Wike gave out 2,082 hectares of land in Maitama and Asokoro to his son through a company, Joaq Farms and Estates Limited. Now, new claims have surfaced linking another company, Jordan Farms and Estates Limited, to a second son of the minister.

But Olayinka insisted that the documents being shared are misleading and have no real proof. He said, “No such land is even available in Maitama and Asokoro. The land in question is in Bwari Area Council and was legally given to a company not linked to the minister’s son.”

He said people were jumping to conclusions just because the name of the company includes “Jordan,” which happens to be the name of one of Wike’s sons.

“Records from the Corporate Affairs Commission show that none of the minister’s children are directors of the company,” Olayinka said. “Anyone with evidence should publish the names of the actual owners.”

He added that it is not a crime for anyone, including the children of a minister, to own land legally in Nigeria, but as at now, no such allocation has been made to Wike’s children.

Taking a jab at critics, Olayinka said, “Let that fellow from Adamawa State, who is trying to fight the minister over his support for power rotation, try harder. This latest lie, like the last one, has already failed.”
