Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at his political critics, accusing them of lacking consistency and vision, while touting the achievements of the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking during the ongoing project commissioning exercise in Abuja, Wike mocked those he described as “politically expired” individuals who, since 1999, have allegedly moved across more than ten political parties.

He said their inconsistency and lack of direction have rendered them ineffective critics of the current government’s efforts.

He said, “Let people hear. Let those who don’t have vision, let those who are politically expired, let those, since 1999 have belonged to over 10 political parties, see what we are doing.

“Let those who have eyes see what the FCT administration under president Bola Ahmed Tinubu are doing to transform the FCT.”

The minister boasted that the ongoing commissioning of projects is proof of the government’s commitment to development, adding that even his detractors would be forced to witness the progress being made.

“I thank God that today makes it the 5th day that the president has commissioned projects and thank God that wherever they are and whichever channels they want to watch, they will see Mr President commissioning projects everyday. Today is the 15th day of the entire project commissioning. Friday will make it the 16th day,” he said.

Wike specifically praised the construction work on the Ushafa/War College Road, saying he had never personally supervised any project as closely as he did this one. He commended the contractor for delivering quality work.

Representing President Tinubu at the commissioning, Vice President Kashim Shettima lauded Wike for revitalizing satellite towns in the capital territory, describing the infrastructure projects as catalysts for economic growth and job creation.

He said, “We are not just building roads, we are building capacity. We are creating jobs.”

Shettima praised Wike’s proactive approach and urged other leaders across the country to emulate the FCT’s model of governance and infrastructure development.

The event also saw the attendance of three former G-5 governors: Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
