A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party aligned with Nyesom Wike has advised its members to disregard reports of a meeting between another bloc within the party and the African Democratic Congress.

The group, speaking through its National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, stated that the gathering involving the Tanimu Turaki-led faction did not receive official approval from the party leadership.

He emphasized that the PDP has not initiated any form of engagement or communication with the ADC or its representatives.

According to him, individuals who participated in the meeting acted independently and should not be regarded as representatives of the party.

Mohammed further noted that the reports and interpretations surrounding the meeting do not reflect the PDP’s official stance, urging members and the public to dismiss such claims.

He added that the party remains focused on its internal agenda, particularly preparations for its forthcoming primaries.

He said details about the timetable and guidelines would be released in due course, as the party continues positioning itself to provide leadership for Nigerians.

Earlier, the Turaki-led faction held talks with a wing of the ADC linked to David Mark, describing the engagement as a demonstration of support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, which lasted about two hours in the evening, addressed national concerns and explored the possibility of collaboration between political groups.

Notable figures present included former Minister of Information Jerry Gana, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Also in attendance were former governors Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, and Rotimi Amaechi.

Other participants included the ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola and former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami, alongside several senior political figures who took part in the discussions.
