A female tenant was allegedly stabbed by her landlord for plucking mangoes from a tree in his compound without permission.
The victim is said to be a student at the Chuka University, Kenya.
A police officer, Meru South OCPD Baraza Saiya said that another student who attempted to rescue the victim also sustained injuries from the scuffle.
Saiya said the landlord was also stabbed by angry students from the university in retaliation.
The three were later taken to hospital where they were treated and discharged.
The landlord was held at Chuka Police Station before being arraigned in court, Citizentv.co.ke reports.
