The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West, the elder brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
The confirmation follows days of public speculation, social media reactions, and family appeals surrounding his detention.
In a statement issued on Friday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, explained that the arrest was based on a petition filed against Ojeogwu and three others.
According to Adeh, the petition included allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
She revealed that police invitations were sent to Ojeogwu several times for questioning, but he allegedly failed to respond. The statement read: “Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu… which were not honoured.”
Adeh further disclosed that the police obtained a valid arrest warrant from a court, leading to his arrest in Lagos and subsequent transfer to Abuja for investigation.
After the investigation was concluded, Ojeogwu was arraigned in court on November 6, 2025. The court ordered that he be remanded in custody until his bail conditions are met, which, as of the time of the statement, had not yet been fulfilled.
