Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has offered a powerful and emotional declaration about her daughter Priscilla’s marriage, stating with conviction that it will not suffer the same fate as hers.

Speaking during Priscilla’s baby shower held in Toronto, Canada, Iyabo opened up about the personal sacrifices she believes have paved the way for her daughter’s lasting happiness.

In a video that surfaced from the event, the actress is seen praying over her daughter’s future, particularly her union with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux. She dismissed the notion that her past as a single mother would negatively affect her daughter’s marriage.

“We women must begin to prophesy good things into the lives of our children. Don’t have the belief that because a certain thing happened to your mum, it happened to you and it must happen to your children. Break it. There is something called Ancestral curs£. You must break and stop it. Priscilla, your marriage will work, you will grow old with your husband, he will be beside you, from the day of youth till the day of your old and you will be with your children because you have married right, you have married the bones of your bones, the flesh of your flesh. If mine didn’t work, yours will work, for I have paid that sacrifice for yours to work,” she prayed.

Iyabo’s declaration comes in the wake of online speculation following Priscilla’s wedding ceremonies months ago. Some social media users had predicted the marriage would not last, citing Iyabo’s own marital history.

However, Iyabo strongly rejected such comparisons, insisting that generational misfortunes must be broken, not repeated. According to her, she has already paid the price so her daughter wouldn’t have to.

The moment has since resonated with fans and viewers, sparking conversations about motherhood, legacy, and the power of spoken blessings.
