Why Nigerians must pray for Tinubu – Reps deputy spokesman

The Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Mr. Philip Agbese, has urged Nigerians to continually pray for the success of President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly in delivering services to the nation.

In a special Christmas message, Agbese emphasized the biblical teaching to pray for those in authority and highlighted the efficacy of such prayers.

Rather than engaging in criticism or castigation, Agbese emphasized the importance of praying for leaders, stating that the peace of mind of a leader is essential for effective governance.

He urged Christians to fulfill their obligation by praying for the wellness, good judgment, safety, grace, and success of President Tinubu and all leaders at various levels.

“Rather than murmuring, criticising or castigating the people in power, as Christians, we are taught to always pray for our leaders and people in positions of authority and it is only when the leader has peace of mind that he can settle down for the business of governance and administration.

“Since any decision taken from the top has ripple effects on all of us, down the line and to the least person amongst us, we owe it as an obligation to pray for wellness, good judgment, safety, grace and success for the President and all our leaders, across all levels,” he stated.

Expressing gratitude for the improved security situation, Agbese credited the military’s successes against insurgents across the country.

He noted the positive shift from previous reports of insurgencies and attacks during Christmas celebrations, attributing the change to the efforts of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and his team.

Agbese, who represents Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, commended the armed forces and called for acknowledgment of their commitment.

“We must as a matter of responsibility, acknowledge the effort of the armed forces and salute the gallantry and commitment of General Chris Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff and other Service Chiefs, including the Inspector-General of Police.

“The security men out there need our prayers and support. I travelled home to be with my family and constituents, like every other person in the city; but those stayed on the highway, camps, bushes and forests, day and night to keep us safe and secure. We must give it to them,” he noted.
