Mavin record singer Arya Starr has stated that she isnโt afraid of scandals contrary to what people might think.
The 18-year-old Afro-pop singer made this known in an interview on โApple Music-Africa now radioโ with Lootlove while revealing why she named her debut album โ19 and dangerous.โ
โTwo years ago I knew my album was going to be โ19 and dangerousโ like thatโs what I was going to call my album like I didnโt want to know anything I was so sure.
โGrowing up, I grew up with a lot of stereotypes, when you hear female singers youโll hear they are this or that and me I just grew up with the mindset that I am not scared of being a female singer, I am not scared of being an African woman, Iโm ready to take over.
โI am not afraid of mistakes, you know if something bad happens I am ready to grow from that situation and become a better human being, thatโs when I knew I was dangerous like Iโm not afraid of any scandals, I am not afraid of anything like that Iโm ready,โ she said.
The young musician is one of the rave singers signed under Don Jazzyโs Mavins.
On the success of her album which came months after her self-titled EP, she said: โIโm so excited, Iโm so grateful the love is amazing. The reaction is just crazy Iโm so excited.โ
