Why I'm not afraid of scandals - Singer Arya Starr

Mavin record singer Arya Starr has stated that she isnโ€™t afraid of scandals contrary to what people might think.

The 18-year-old Afro-pop singer made this known in an interview on โ€˜Apple Music-Africa now radioโ€™ with Lootlove while revealing why she named her debut album โ€™19 and dangerous.โ€™

โ€œTwo years ago I knew my album was going to be โ€™19 and dangerousโ€™ like thatโ€™s what I was going to call my album like I didnโ€™t want to know anything I was so sure.

โ€œGrowing up, I grew up with a lot of stereotypes, when you hear female singers youโ€™ll hear they are this or that and me I just grew up with the mindset that I am not scared of being a female singer, I am not scared of being an African woman, Iโ€™m ready to take over.

โ€œI am not afraid of mistakes, you know if something bad happens I am ready to grow from that situation and become a better human being, thatโ€™s when I knew I was dangerous like Iโ€™m not afraid of any scandals, I am not afraid of anything like that Iโ€™m ready,โ€ she said.

The young musician is one of the rave singers signed under Don Jazzyโ€™s Mavins.

On the success of her album which came months after her self-titled EP, she said: โ€œIโ€™m so excited, Iโ€™m so grateful the love is amazing. The reaction is just crazy Iโ€™m so excited.โ€
