Popular Nigerian TikTok content creator and streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, known online as Peller, has opened up about why he terminated the employment of a cameraman he had recently hired—just one week after offering him the job.

Peller had gone viral days earlier for conducting a public interview offering a ₦500,000 salary to applicants, one of whom held a master’s degree.

The process, which was documented and shared online, sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many users accusing the streamer of mocking the academic struggles of Nigerian graduates.

However, the successful candidate’s time on the job was short-lived.

In a conversation captured during a car ride with fellow entertainer Carter Efe, Peller disclosed that the cameraman had been dismissed barely a week into his role.

“After paying the sum of ₦500,000 upfront, the cameraman arrived with his luggage one week later, claiming that he had nowhere to live,” Peller explained. “He expected me to provide accommodation, which didn’t sit well with me.”

The incident has once again stirred conversations online about job expectations, employer-employee boundaries, and the realities of employment in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
