Speaking about her ordeal, Sofia shared, “The father rejected the baby, I stay with my grandma. She rejected me and the baby. I regret my actions, I feel bad.”

She further explained her circumstances, stating, “I was in a bad mood at the time I did it. I have no helper. It is only me taking care of the baby, doing everything. I am tired.”

The Police Commissioner recounted how the abandoned child was discovered by children playing near the well, who then alerted the local vigilante and the police.

In another development, a 45-year-old man named Chiemenam Adigwe, from Akpo community in Aguata local government area of Anambra State, was arrested with 100 fake bottles of alcoholic beverages. The Commissioner revealed that Adigwe was caught in Bomadi, where he produced the counterfeit drinks using ethanol mixed with water and flavored additives.
