Singer Simi has said that the reason why fans are yet to see her daughter’s face is because she doesn’t feel like the time is right for them to.
She made this known in an Instagram live chat after a fan asked to know why she hasn’t revealed the face of the baby she welcomed with singer and husband, Adekunle Gold.
Simi said,
โWhen are you seeing my babyโs face? I donโt know. It will be when I feel like. You guys already know how I am with social media.โ
Simi used the opportunity to correct those who think her daughter’s name is Duduke which is actually the title of a new single she released just weeks to the arrival of her baby.
The singer said,
โMy babyโs name is not โDudukeโ. โDudukeโ is the name of the song I wrote for my child. โDudukeโ is the sound of a beat. That is where the title of the song came from. My babyโs name is Adejare, not โDudukeโ. I love the fact that the song has become a trend and people can connect it.โ
On music, she noted that she was open to working with rapper Olamide. She said,
โOlamide is a leader in his own right. A collaboration with him wonโt be a bad idea.โ
Giving a word of advice to young artistes, Simi said,
โKeep pushing. Steve Babaeko used to tell me, โStay hungryโ. That is how you get ahead. You have to keep going. Even when you have succeeded at something, act like you have nothing.โ
