Veteran actress, Whoopi Goldberg has whet the appetite of fans about a possible production a long-awaited Sister Act 3, a third movie in the franchise.

Sister Act hit the screens with its original in 1992 original and the sequel followed in 1993 Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit,

During an interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Goldberg said that the Sister Act 3 laid to rest because of an apparent lack of interest.

“Because for a long time, they kept saying no-one wanted to see it,” she said. “And then quite recently, it turns out, that that may not be true. People might want to see it. So we’re working diligently to try to figure out how to get the gang together and come back.”

She also spoke about just how enjoyable Sister Act was to make and to watch, calling it “a really fun movie”.

“It’s fun and it feels good,” she said. “And you know, nobody’s mad. It’s just, like, listen – bad singing, great singing, okay singing, and then nuns. What’s better than that?”

Goldberg, since 1993, who has gone to star in a host of movies including The Color PurpleGhost and Star Trek: The Next Generation, is due to star in a London stage musical adaptation of Sister Act in summer 2021.
