An error in a 2018 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result ranking for the 36 states of the federation has caused Nigerians to raise an eyebrow.
It could not be ascertained if it is an official ranking released by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), but it shows how the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) performed in the last WASSCE.
Abia ranks 1st on the list, followed by Anambra, Edo, Rivers and Imo. Sitting at 15th spot on the ranking is ‘Kongi’ and this has caused social media users to raise an eyebrow, asking which of the 36 states is ‘Kongi’.
It is believed that Kogi state in the North central zone have been incorrectly captured on the list as ‘Kongi’ and this has sent tongue wangling on Twitter.
Many Nigerians in their reactions were surprised and have been hilariously asking which of the 36 states in Nigeria is ‘Kongi’. Some have however discredit the ranking, saying it did not emanate from the examination body.

Osun, with all the Opon Imo and noise from Aregbe is the worst performing South West state. And the South West generally has fallen. Sad commentary on the quality of leadership. When it’s not performance but bullion vans and MCs to win elections that they now focus on. pic.twitter.com/PI8i0rrvYi

Did not realize that there is such as state in Nigeria as “Kongi”. I am also just wondering what the government of the states at the bottom of the ranking will do with this information. https://t.co/lkf72BIhTT
