WhatsApp lunches app which makes it easier to ignore friends
When you’re chatting away on WhatsApp, have you ever had the feeling that your friends aren’t really listening to you?
You’d better get used to that nagging doubt because the communications app has released a new update which is going to make it very tempting to ignore not just one of your chums – but all of them.
WhatsApp has released version 2.17.81 of its software for iOS, the operating system which powers iPhones and iPads, Metro.co.uk reports.
This introduces a new feature which will let you watch YouTube videos right inside the app – and keep viewing the same clip while swapping from chat to chat.
Heres how WhatsApp described the update: ‘When you receive a link to a YouTube video, you can now play it right within WhatsApp. With picture-in-picture, you can also keep watching the video while you navigate to another chat.’
Which is great if you want to immediately watch a vid someone’s sent to you, but so hot if you want meaningful conversations and the guarantee that you’re actually being listened to.
Luckily, there’s also a new way of hurling abuse at your neglectful mates, because you can now produce voice messages in a brand new way which makes it easier to rant and rave at length.
WhatsApp added: ‘Want to easily record long Voice Messages?
‘When recording a Voice Message, just swipe up to lock recording so you can continue to record without keeping your finger down.’
If you’ve gotten a bit too angry with your tardy acquaintances and are feeling guilty about all the insults you’ve sent them on WhatsApp, there’s a way of stopping the damage – as long as you’re quick.
The app recently introduced an ‘unsend feature’ which lets you claw back messages you regret sending.
You can delete your moody missives up to seven minutes after firing them off, but there’s a cool trick which lets you delete them up to a week later. By then, of course, the damage has probably been done.
