What Buhari govt must do about social media – Adeboye
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A Adeboye has spoken against the Federal Government’s plan to regulate social media in Nigeria.
Adeboye said that if the idea is to imitate the way social media is in China, then such won’t work.
The clergyman made this known through the Assistant General Overseer (Admin. & Personnel), Pastor Johnson Odesola.
“The best the government can do is to ensure that the news being carried through the social media is genuine but to want to replicate what is happening in China here in Nigeria is laughable and would not be possible here,” he said.
This comes days after the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, made calls for the regulation of social media.
