Reports say Kim Kardashian West was robbed at gunpoint by men dressed as policemen in her Paris hotel room early Friday morning.
A spokesperson for Kim revealed that at least ‘$11 million’ worth of jewellery was stolen.
The men reportedly stole a jewellery box worth €6 million ($6.7 million) and a ring worth €4 million ($4.5 million).
French officials said, “At around 2.30am, the robbers are believed to have entered the building and handcuffed the night guard. They then entered Kim’s room, threatened her with a weapon, ‘tied her up and locked her in the bathroom. Her daughter, North, and 10-month-old son Saint, are not believed to have been in the room at the time.”
Reports say Kim was “badly shaken but physically unharmed” following the incident.
The French Interior Ministry said five men threatened the building’s security guard with a weapon, handcuffed him and forced him to open Kim’s private apartment.
Two of the robbers were able to gain entry to her room, according to the Paris Prosecutor’s office.
Sources say a photographer, who has been following Kim since she arrived in Paris, is being questioned by police.
He is said to have gained access to a restaurant where she and her family were dining earlier this week by posing as a policeman.
However, mixed reactions have continued to trail the news since it broke early Monday morning.
While some condemned the robbery attack on Kim and showed concern for her safety and that of her two kids, others make fun of the celebrity. They blamed her for flaunting too much wealth when many people are in need.
