Premier League side, West Ham United, have been axed by another sponsor, Experience Kissimmee, following Kurt Zouma’s animal abuse backlash.
WuzupNigeria reported that the Hammers had their sponsorship deal with wellness partner, Vitality, suspended on Wednesday after the player was allowed to start in the team’s game against Watford on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the video of him kicking his cat went viral.
Zouma who was fined two weeks wages by the club has also had his Addidas and Vitality contracts terminated on Wednesday night.
Following Vitality’s decision to suspend its sponsorship with West Ham, Experience Kissimmee, a tourism authority for Osceola County in Florida, on Wednesday evening announced that it was reviewing its relationship with the club.
However, in a recent tweet on Thursday, the organisation announced that it has cut ties with The Hammers.
“Experience Kissimmee announced today that it has ended its sponsorship of West Ham United Football Club.”
Meanwhile, coach David Moyes defended his decision to start Zouma in a press conference.
“I am really disappointed and the club have taken all the actions that they can do at the moment.
“They are working on that behind the scenes. My job is to pick the best team for West Ham and Kurt was part of that team.
“I am a big animal lover. As I said, my job is to try and win for West Ham and to put out the best team for that.
“I think the club would rather deal with it all in time and they will let you know what the action is.”
