It was like war scenes from Nollywood movies in Ibadan on Friday as secondary school students clashed in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.

Students of St Luke in Molete clashed with Ibadan Grammar school students after both schools closed for the week.

The students were seen with cutlass and stones as the two school students clashed.

As at the time of writing this report, no one could pin point what led to the disgraceful behaviour.

The sad scene has generated reactions from social media users who described the fight as an evidence of the decay in the country’s secondary school education system as a whole.

“Public schools? Most of them are just thugs, you see them roaming about streets early in the morning when their Private schools mate are in class…. I don’t blame them, they are paying nothing and the government is also not helping matter,” a social media user commented.

Some other social media users blamed the location of the two schools and the parents of the young hooligans for the disgraceful act.

“They are located in the core Ibadan ghetto. Am not surprised . The boys only schools in Ibadan have a large number of touts,” a commentator said.
