Wanted Rivers murder suspect Nnawali rearrested

A former commander of the OSPAC vigilante group in Igwuruta community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr. Promise Nnawali, who is wanted by the police has been arrested.

He was first arrested November 2020 after he allegedly murdered two persons in the state but escaped.

Nnawali is accused of murdering of one Princewill Ogbondah and Peter Opurum, whose bodies had yet to be discovered.

He was then declared a wanted man by the police.

Withinnigeria reports that Mr. Goodluck Ogbondah, a sibling of one of the victims, confirmed Nnawali’s arrest and detention. He commended the military for aiding his arrest.

However, Mr. Ogbondah urged the security agencies to prevail on Nnawali to show the families of the deceased where the remains of their brothers were dumped.

He also urged the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Friday Eboka, to resist attempts by public figures in the area to compromise the investigation.

The Rivers State Police Command had on the 21st of November, 2020 declared Mr. Promise Nnawali wanted for killing two men in Iguwuruta.
