Voting starts early in Mushin, peaceful so far
Accreditation and voting started early in most areas in the Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Punch witnessed that materials got to the polling unit very early and due electoral process started a few minutes after.
Officials of the Independent electoral commission arrived some polling units before 8 am while others arrived few minutes after 8 am.
The first voter to voted at Polling Unit 19, Ward 4, Anipele street, Mushin at exactly 8:30 am with smiles written all over her face attesting that the election is free and fair.
She told our correspondent, ” I am happy the officials came early and there was no issue with the card reader.
“Voting process last time we’re not so pleasing but I’m happy INEC was able to correct all their wrongs and voting has become more encouraging for us.
” I am happy I came early and I was able to vote early.”
An INEC official who simply identified herself as Bisi said she is happy that things are going on smoothly in her polling unit.
She said, ” I am very happy things are going in well. We ensure that all our card readers are functioning properly last night.”
Punch recalls that electoral materials did not get to some polling units until past 11 am during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
