Tottenham edged Antwerp 2-0 in a decider on Thursday night to go top of Group J in the Europa League ahead of the Round of 32.
Carlos Vinícius gave Jose Mourinho’s men the lead at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the 57th minute while Giovani Lo Celso made it 2-0 in 71st minute.
The win out Spur on top of the group with 12 points 13 points after four wins, one draw and a loss, leaving Antwerp qualifying as runner-up with 12 points after four wins and two loses.
LASK miss out as they remain third with 10 points with three wins, one draw and two loses, while Ludogorets stay bottom without a point after six matches.
Speaking after the game, Mourinho said: “We focus on the next match. We play every match to win. The intention is always to be positive. Today we got an objective, not a fundamental one, but it could help us.”
Dele Alli caught attention for leaving the bench (before coming back) as Mourinho used up all five subs without fielding him and Mourinho said:
“Yeah, but let’s not run away from reality. A player on the bench who realises all five subs have been used of course is not a happy player and I would not expect him to be happy.”
