Villarreal have appointed Jose Rojo Martin “Pacheta” as their new coach for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
The 55-year-old takes over after Villarreal parted ways with manager Quique Setien on Tuesday, following a run of three defeats in four games.
In a statement, Villarreal said on it’s verified X (formerly Twitter) account, “Villarreal CF and @pacheta_oficial have reached an agreement for the manager from Burgos to be the Yellows’ head coach for the rest of the 2023/24 season ”
Pacheta arrives at Villarreal following nearly two years at Real Valladolid, where he helped the club win promotion to La Liga in 2021-22. However, they were relegated on the final day of last season.
Villarreal are currently 15th in La Liga, having won just one of their four games so far.
